lhfreak #1 Posted July 26, 2003 Although I've never seen them......I know that some of the activision games 'do something special' when you get to a certain high score. For example the bomber in Kaboom opens his mouth in an O shape when you get to 1000000 points (or somewhere around there). And I heard in Stampede you get some cow skulls up in the score section when you max out points. And in one of the others (I forget which one) The digits all turn into exclamation points. The manuals hint at these things happening. Does anyone have a list of the actual surprises of these games? (or even better....pics) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The fish in Frostbite isnt triggered by points, I think its triggered by level. It appears to give the player a benchmark of their score-collecting ability. For instance, if you are crap, and never gobble the fish, by the time you get to level X(whatever it is) and the fish appears, your score will be low- sub 100K. If you are good on the other hand, and eat loads of fish, your score will be high when you get the fish, over 130K etc. I think Thomas should investigate the Frostbite code so once and for all the world can know for sure if it does appear after a fixed number of levels, and if so, how many. One flaw I noticed in the tari 2600 section is that in Kaboom!, when you hit a million points, the score freezes at 999,999. There is no "!!!!!!" in Kaboom!.
