Atari 2600 adapter via switchable bus lines

Has anyone ever come up with a way to keep the Atari 2600 adapter attached to the Adam using a few toggle switches on the bus connector. ?  Wondering if I can cut a few traces and solder in a switch to close the connection when I want to use the atari

I don’t seem to recall this every being done. There have been a few that made the EM#1 a stand-alone game system.

 

What about an interface/adapter that connected between the Memory Console and EM#1 so that the EM#1 can be kept original.

i am not a hardware guy but i would be first in line to buy something that connected between the adam and em1
