Mehridian Sanders
Hello All, I am having a devil of a time finding all the physical dimensions to the TI-99/4a and it's peripherals. I would like to propose that anyone who has a device related to the TI-99/4a, do some quick measurements and get some angles and pictures together. The Rarer the Device the better. It also gives a chance to show off your device. I have been trying to get files together to make Needless/Needful things.. Like a Sidecar that is a Power Center .. 5 Missile Switches (because no switch is worth throwing only once) and connecting to 5 power outlets. If I had the dimensions of the Memory Expansion Sidecar, I would be able to make something that would fit the old size with newer components. I am sure I am not the only maker here. Please sometime in the near future, take 30 minutes and get some dimensions and pictures of your device. It can only help our community. Thank you kindly in advance.
pixelpedant
Fantastic idea. A base of this kind of information would indeed be great for the purpose of supporting future creation of peripherals/cases/parts/etc.

wierd_w
Ideally, I need to get my horrible hairy hobbit fingers on a photogrammetry wand, and shoot some point clouds of all the peripherals. They just cost too damn much for somebody on my end of the poverty axis.

Maybe use a Kinect instead? https://m.all3dp.com/2/kinect-3d-scanner-easy-beginner-tutorial/
Keatah
They had something like this on StarTrek: Enterprise. Love how the tech filters down. And in a few years it will be in the $200 range. Then free on smartphones.
