Swaggers
I have 50 games and I finally got around to testing them and out of 50 the only ones with issues are 4 different Activision games. I can only find video on how to open and clean the Atari produced ones and I'd like to open these Activision games up and see if I can get them working again. Can anyone point out a video or page on how to get the Activision shells open?
jaybird3rd
There are two screws under the label, and there is a snap built in to the "handle" at the top of the cartridge. It shouldn't be necessary to open the cartridge if all you need to do is to clean it, however; the card edge fingers are fully exposed, so with the help of a flashlight, you can inspect the fingers and scrub them with contact cleaner and/or isopropyl alcohol if needed. The problem I've found with Activision's 5200 cartridges is that the PCBs they used seem especially prone to corrosion, and they don't sit deeply enough in the cartridge slot, so only the very tips of the fingers ever touch the 5200's cartridge connector. If the finger tips are the slightest bit worn or dirty, the cartridge will be so touchy that the game will crash with the slightest wobble, so you'll probably find yourself having to clean them more often than other 5200 cartridges. roadrunner
Yeah, i have a tough time getting Activision carts to boot up. Have to fold a piece of paper between the cart and cart slot.
jaybird3rd
I've had the idea of designing some replacement Activision PCBs for the 5200, and I really need to buckle down and do it. I'd love to rebuild all of my Activision carts with fresh new boards.

0078265317
I have same issue. Papper works. So do these. Suction it to the back of the cart and jam it in for tight grip. Removes easily. https://www.brilliantpromos.com/ap/Suction-Ball-Stand-552097906?gclid=CjwKCAjwnK36BRBVEiwAsMT8WOFDgjirUIY6g1ya5e-hIiWoSspfoN1_wYeE5JwZb5QSpUzmS3TefhoCSI0QAvD_BwE
