No trolling, I have not used any super cart in years.

RXB has EA built in and as I use the SAMS the use of Supercart is pretty much useless unless just Console only.

Expanding RAM currently the SAMS can support 32Meg of RAM. This is laughable compared to SAMS vs Supercart.

Can you explain why I can not run Debugger from SAMS?

Years ago I demoed running 44K of 8K assembly support from RXB. There was no reason I could not run 4 Meg.

My game IN THE DARK was 644K of maps all in SAMS. I doubt a Supercart could pull this off easy.

I do know some people think the Supercart is boss, I just do not see the argument it is as valuable.

It's just you haven't thought of a way to make it boss maybe? I love the idea of making something that's hmm puny and making it irreversably awesome.

Have used the Super Cart; Super Space II and Super Extended Basic since the 80's.  And recently added a FinalGrom99.

Infocom SC interpreter

Super Bug II

SoundFX

JJ's BOOT Menu

Disney disk conversions

Various Utilities used the extra 8K

I just got into the habit of always using an E/A 8K+ module of some sort.

So its hard to peg down what other programs used or required the extra 8K.

Most documentation will list this information.

I guess at this point in time I guess the question needs to be asked... what programs REQUIRE a SuperCart, that cannot be run with a FinalGROM?

(The assumption is due to the additional 4K and the way the program is written.)

above mentioned Infocom games.

A few debugger programs use the supercart.  Hotbug, sbug, maybe one or two others

timxt uses it for buffer space in one iteration

Pretty sure Telco can utilize the supercart for modules

Certain loaders and menus used it, maybe even one of the DOS programs.  Battery backup could also retain a simple module/startup header for certain programs.

As much as I like the SAMS,  a supercart memory addition is easy to use -- no cru or banking required - and sometimes the 8k is enough to make a huge difference.
