Has anyone been successful in removing the aluminum trim on a 1200XL?

If its just adhesive, you could try heat.  If you get it hot enough, the glue might get soft enough to gently pry off without bending.  I've done this to get rid of the car dealer badge they stick on the tail of new cars.  It's on pretty good, but I heated it up and it came off without too much effort.  Needed to use 91% rubbing alcohol to get the goo off.

I used to use the 'toner transfer' method years ago to make XL-style badges; printing a mirror image of the logo onto glossy photo paper in a mono laser printer, then ironing it onto thin aluminium sheet, washing away the paper, and cutting the aluminium to size. It all seems a bit primitive now, even though it was quite effective at the time.

Thanks flashjazzcat. That is an idea I might try. Possibly as a temporary badge.

Everyone:

There has to someone out there that knows about making these types of badges.

A member of our club has a 1400XL without a badge, and another has several 1200XL missing their badges as well. It would be nice to find a way to get these professionally made.

Perhaps someone in the automotive industry?

What might be useful search terms for google to find the right kind of business that may do work like this?

My 1200XL is missing the leftmost part of the trim. Got it that way but it doesn‘t look like it was forced off as everything beneath looks unbroken. If anyone knows a source for that part other than bending it DIY I‘d be grateful.
