ok1rp
Hi all, does somebody have tip or hint for memory extension on 800XL please? Thanks Petr
xrbrevin
there are many options depending if you have soldering skills, do you want extra ROM slots too.. check the profile of user: @tf_hh check lotharek's site a device called 'antonia' replaces the CPU and gives you selectable RAM and ROM versions/types there are others that give you a fixed 256k, 320k, 576k, 1088k but the more modern upgrades allow you to select between any of these. archeocomp
If you want 256kB XE compatible, I could send you one. Check also Igi's site http://blog.3b2.sk/igi/search.aspx?q=rozšírenie I believe Ctirad has still one left https://atariage.com/forums/topic/162420-ram-320xl/#comments Best would be to produce a new batch, so if you can catch him in Prague... +DrVenkman
Ultimate 1MB from Lotharek - 1 megabyte of additional RAM configurable several different ways; built in SpartaDOS X; built in real-time clock; user selectable slots for four different OS ROMs; user selectable slots for four different 8K BASIC versions or any other simple 8K ROM image; if you use an XEGS operating system, you also get four more slots for the XEGS built-in game (not just Missile Command). If your 800XL has the OS ROM and MMU in sockets, the installation requires only four wires to be soldered.
ClausB
Or go old school and build it yourself: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/122470-ram-upgrade-applications/?do=findComment&comment=1481893 Edited September 6, 2020 by ClausB
+MrFish
Alternatively, you can get the latest incarnation of the Turbo Freezer 2011 cartridge, which, among many other features, provides 512K of additional system RAM (giving 576K total). It plugs into either the PBI or Cartridge Port + ECI. So, no modifications are required on the machine -- except PBI 5V mod for power on the 800XL, which is a single wire mod. Here's the original Turbo Freezer 2011 thread, which gives some basic details of the cart's features.
Mathy
Hello Petr If you are new to the Atari or getting back in after many years, forget about the Ultimate 1MB. Get acquainted with the Atari first, then look at the U1MB. Sincerely Mathy
BillC
You may also want to consider the SYSCHECK 2.2 for RAM expansion. It has 512KB that can be configured for Rambo compatible modes, as well as a flashable 4-OS selector and hardware testing.
