Back in the late 80s, my most prized was Mechatronics XB II Plus.  I don't physically have one anymore.  It seems special, and rare, and full of potential. The same day I bought that, I bought the Mechatronics Gram Karte for my PEB... So generally none of my cartridges received use after that.

On the subject of cartridges, what WAS (past tense) your most highly prized and favored cartridge you now rarely or never use anymore?  Why?

Extended Basic and Mini Memory.

Extended Basic gave access to sprites. It quickly presented issues with timing (collision detection and lack of speed (compared with other Basics)).

Mini Memory. This was a relatively cheap way to get around Basic and Extended Basic, and get to the speed of most of the other popular computers. Was fun for a while. 768 bytes was like a limit, unless you got rather advanced (which the other computers really didn't require). I even got the 32 Memory Expansion, but overall view demanded I'd move to the C64.

I think it would have to be a game cartridge whose big fun has passed.  So.. Hunt The Wumpus or Amazing or MunchMan have declined the most from their peak!

I still use physical cartridges. Even FlashROM99 didn't make too much difference (it's handy for TI Workshop). I don't have a FG99.

The ones I always carry around are still XB, E/A, DM2, Mini Memory.
