ikonsgr's 5200 Adapter - 3d Printed Case?

Recommended Posts

Just recently picked up ikonsgr's 5200 adapter for 9pin controllers and was wondering if anyone designed/printed a case for this yet?  (or found something close that could be used).  Would like to put it in something to protect it sooner rather than later.

007 - your enclosure was what got me thinking about this!

My time is a bit tight at the moment, but I may try to use the dimensions from that enclosure - or some cardstock mockups I'm doing - to design something printable.

Hello,

I have a 3D printable case for the adapter that I'd like to share:

I recommend printing the top of the case at a 45 degree angle to make it easier to remove the support material. I did a medium fill, seemed to work well. I meant to include a picture but I'm away from home at the moment. I hope this is helpful for some people. I only have the files in .stl format.

Here are some pictures of a black case that I've printed (I'm sorry for the delay!):

The side is open for the expansion cable. It would probably look nicer with a nicer quality filament. I used some cheapo stuff I had lying around for the time being.

I printed one, and I think it turned out pretty nice.  Thanks!

I'm a total beginner on the 3D printer.  I have no idea what I'm doing.  I printed the top at 90 degrees (flat side down) and lost the little reset nubbin to make the flat portion print on the glass plate.  How in the heck do you print it otherwise?

A lot better than anything I've ever made.

Maybe we need to start a "3D Printing Beginner's" thread or something.

Try printing it with the button facing up at a slight angle. The support material will be more annoying but the button won't break off at least.
