Sony PS5 has almost same dimensions as the Atari 800

So I was on an emulation binge this weekend.  I never owned the Atari 800 but the Atari 1200XL was my first computer.

 

In any case, I saw how huge the PS5 was so I was curious how big the PS5 was compared to the 800:

 

PS5 dimensions: 15.74″ × 8.79″ × 3.97″. Weight: 10.54 pounds
Atari 800 dimensions: 16″ × 12.25″ × 4.5″. Weight: 10.5 pounds

 

Pretty amazing, huh?

Hm. The 5200 supposedly is 13 x 15 x 4.25". I had not previously realized the 800 and 5200 are almost identical in size, possibly rotated 90 degrees.

 

The Amiga CDTV is 16.93 x 13 x 3.74" and the Pioneer LaserActive is 17 x 15 x 6", which is the biggest console or home computer I've found, excluding PC midtowers and alike.
