Serguei2 #1 Posted September 30, 2020 Was Atari planning to release Jaguar 2? I read this page https://www.gamesthatwerent.com/2020/09/green-thang/ and Jaguar 2 is mentionned. Unless it's something else.
Tales from the Game Room #2 Posted October 1, 2020 No. They were gearing up to release an all-in-one Jaguar and Jaguar CD machine, called Jaguar Duo. Much like how Sega was gearing up to release the Neptune, which was an all-in-one Sega Genesis and 32x.
Leeroy ST #3 Posted October 1, 2020 There was a Jaguar II in development with new powerful Tom and Jerry successors and Built-in CD ROM but from what I gather was killed when JTS reverse merged with Atari and broke their deal under the terms of the merger since they moved to immediately liquidate all hardware and cancelled all hardware related projects than sold the bran to Hasbro who would publish those 3D remakes. Apparently a cooling fan was included because one of the chips burned to hot in the prototype. Some prototypes are out there on the Internet blogs and Youtube for the few that got to use them. Jaguar 2 prototype was this: Jaguar DUO was a completely different thing. Edited October 1, 2020 by Leeroy ST
