The Official Atari Age Secret Santa 2020 thread

Recommended Posts

My package has arrived today, as well!

I do have a very small, fledgling Twitch channel ( https://www.twitch.tv/drmoocowz ) that I plan on doing a live opening at some point (don't know when yet, but I'll give a heads up here when I decide to do it). I think that will be really cool to do and I'll make a clip/highlight of it to share here for those who can't/don't want to see it live. :) Should be awesome!

And like last year, how long before the temptation to press the shiny, candy like button takes over?

Perhaps our fear for delays due to Covid-19 turns into everyone will receive their gifts super early, and then it becomes a waiting game, who can refrain the longest from opening it.

I shipped my gift out this afternoon.  I was assured by the postal worker that there would be no issue for it getting there well before Christmas.  Perhaps in as little as a week.  As for your comment Carlsson, I have great fortitude (stubbornness as my wife calls it) when it comes to these things.  I shouldn't have an issue waiting for Christmas.  This is fun!

I decidedly do NOT have such fortitude! 🤣 While years in retail have eroded my holiday spirit & left me exhausted & cursing commercialism, the few things that remain untainted still managed to bring out the lil' kid in me who loves Christmas. And this whole thing is definitely one of the good things- not only for the generosity shown, but the amazing ability people seem to have to guess what someone they've never met in person would like as a gift!

I will consider it a victory if I make it to December before I open my box!

Nobody better open your presents before Christmas or I will smack you on the hand with my wife's wooden spoon!

I love my Wife dearly, but if I'd made that joke, I'd have referred to her swatting you with her flying broom...

:D

Wow, that is awesome! Watching people post as their gifts come in and wondering what they could be is my favorite part of Secret Santa each year!

EDIT:

Oops, this was in response to HoshiChiri posting the pic of her package. Didn't realize we had another page of posts past that. D'oh!

Hey @joeatari1 (watch me rush to my co-MC's defense)... She can do what she wants!  Besides, it good indication she's a better secret santa then me, she don't go all flaunting it on her head like this big old goldfish.

And the cat ate your homework, huh?  Tell me another one.  ;)

Fair warning... quality is low... but here some of the commercials from my childhood Xmas tape.

Still, super campy and super cheesy. Maybe you'd like to ease into the Xmas mood with stuff like this.

You are under no obligation to click this link, especially since it's six and a half minutes of your life gone forever.  But here it is!

Cable TV.

It's not not just more choice, it's your choice.

My Package just arrived!!!

:)

I'm not terribly good at "waiting". Trying, but stream of consciousness will likely catch up with me eventually.

I'm one of those people who refuses to decorate for Christmas until Thanksgiving is over.

I believe one year I put up my Christmas lights on the evening of Christmas Day, or even Boxing Day. And over here the big celebration is Christmas Eve...

I had one of those Crayola caddies as a kid.  Everything a budding artist needed, too bad I am a terrible artist!

OMG @CaptainBreakoutthat "A CBS Special Presentation" logo and theme sends me back!

Thanks... That was a fun little editing project (except now I have ALL the jingles stuck in my head). I could easily do another one.

Glad youtube is cutting me some slack this time for copyright.

Well, there were some latecomers earlier in this thread. I'm not sure if there are three of you so at least you could mix and have 50% chance of not knowing who sends who a gift. Clearly there still is time before Christmas, in particular if you live in the same country. It is true that we begun collecting names earlier than before this year, in particular due to the world situation and multiple reports how the mail gets severe delays, so waiting any longer would risk many miss getting their gifts in time. Now possibly the warnings about mail delays were exaggerated and several seem to have their packages delivered, waiting a month to open them.
