Dutchboy
Any trick to removing the power LED from the C64 or Vic 20? I am trying to work on the case but want the power LED removed.

desiv
Just did this with my Vic-20. There is a round ring on the inside of the case holding the LED into its holder. I just used a very small flat screwdriver to lever the ring down, going from side to side. Once you have the ring off, you can pop the LED into the case and then you can pop the plastic holder out from the inside.
Dutchboy
Thanks that worked. Broke a plunger taking the keyboard apart. My brother is giving me a replacement. Hopefully I can drill out the broken piece from the key.

desiv
Related question: Does anyone have a good recommendation for adhesive for the POWER badge? I used some double sided tape (generic) and it doesn't look like it held very well... Thoughts? Thanx,
+OLD CS1
I use a good scrap-booking glue for all my stuff like that. It dries clear, is acid-free, holds well, and is easy to clean.
eightbit
My daughter has a jug of rubber cement that I have used with perfect results. Same deal. It holds tight but if I needed to remove it I would use a hairdryer. It does not damage the plastic. Never use crazy glue!
