L'Abbaye des Morts

L'Abbaye des Morts 2019 Collectorvision for ColecoVision. A platformer that plays like Montezuma's Revenge. A lot of time needs to be put into this in order to learn where to go, when & where to jump, and what to do in general. Nice box art, cart, and manual. The game itself is enjoyable but a real challenge.

As a Spaniard, I knew this was familiar, so I checked and...

 

- It's a 2010 Spanish game

 

- It appeared originally for the ZX Spectrum

 

- Thankfully, modern Spanish games for 8 bit computers are not as hard as games created in the 80s

 

- Try old games like Navy Moves or Abu Simbel too see what I mean

 

I guess the Colecovision benefits greatly from being very similar to the MSX. Are there other modern MSX games being ported to the system?

Actually it didn't. It originally is a PC freeware trying to capture the look and feel of the ZX Spectrum, like most games by Locomalito are inspired by old hardware.

Yes, most new ColecoVision ports are similar to MSX games. Penguin Land is one for example but I can't think of others although there are plenty.

Yes, the back of the box says copyright 2010 by Locomalito and Gryzor87.

I have not found the easter egg. I'll look for it but if you want to tell me I'm okay with that because I will never find it on my own.

First clue is to look at the description in the bottom right of the first screen where you have control. Find a way to do it before getting to the castle.

It says "Escape" in the bottom right of the screen. I have been trying but died many times.
