Daylight savings time will still be in effect. Why does this announcement say “Central Standard Time”?

Assuming Hal made a typo (certainly)

 

10AM Chicago is UTC-0500. So in Germany on UTC+0200,  it will be 5:00 PM.

Chicago is in the Central Time zone with or without daylight savings time. Agreement though...for a worldwide virtual event it’ll be best to list the times in UTC. No conversions necessary for everyone outside the Windy City. Removes an unnecessary layer of abstraction.

thanks a lot for the answers.

 

Maybe an additional facebook event (just for the date) is an idea,

as this "translates" any time to local time, and also gives a reminder just in time ?
