I hope you don't mean here "switch it out and use the RAM underneath" as it's the OS that does the job of updating the value in CH to the last key press, hence you resetting it to $FF before you monitor it, e.g. for not being $FF anymore (wait-for-key).

@Wrathchild I mean turn off the OS and only read hardware registers.

 

In the year I'll be much better than now, half as good as @xxl was 20 years ago
