Cartridge PCBs similar to the ones made by Atari

Recommended Posts

Hi

While researching on cartridges, I noticed that Synapse carts PCBs have the same dimensions as the ones made by Atari, and these can be exchanged.

On the attached picture, on the left you can see a Synapse cartridge PCB, and on the right, an Atari BASIC PCB.

Do you know any other companies that used cartridge PCBs with the same dimensions as the Atari PCBs?

Kind regards,

Luis.

Thorn Emi cartridge PCBs are similar to the ones made by Atari. Pictured are Orc Attack and BASIC boards.

Kind regards,

Luis.

Hi Mimo

Thanks for sharing your cart picture.

But I can see it is different than the Atari BASIC cart, it is missing the center hole.

Kind regards,

Luis.

Indeed it is, but thought I should post the picture to prove that I was wrong 😁

it uses a regular 4k EPROM so it could likely work with any burned .bin/.rom 4k file

also has thru-holes for another EPROM in parallel - just like the Atari brown carts - perhaps to do 8k files?
