gar0u
Don't think I can improve much on my scores: 1. Astrosmash: 165,540 2. Football: 84 3. Maze: 38 4. Space: 72 5. Submarine: 38 Sharp Shooter was honestly a bit of a surprise. I found it quit enjoyable to try and improve my score in each mini game. I never played this one as a kid. fakecortex
1 button games that are played in 1 minute? My kind of games. Wait, "specially designed for children over 4"?... The best football game I have played: 77 Space shooting where you want the shots to be just a frame or two faster: 69 Submarine shooting where you're thankful it allows you fire 3 torpedos at a time: 32 Maze shooting where you want turbo: 22 And they say mini games are a new fad. This one looks like it would be a lot of fun head to head on original hardware. Of course, another example of those damn side buttons giving you pain. 2
mr_me
The sharp shot games were meant to be played without controllers. The single action was meant to be voice activated.

There was a game show on one of the networks in Houston that played a Space one where the kids would yell 'fire' instead or pushing buttons, but it was only 1 player. Or perhaps they were only showing 1/2 the screen on camera.
mr_me
That's right. The call-in game show was known as TV Powww in most areas. The games probably went through revisions. You can see two player space battle in the brochure in the following post. 4

Rickster8
My Astrosmash Update: I cannot believe how much harder this game is with 'jzintv' emulation. The difficulty ramp up at 300k is INSANE!!!!! I had over 60 guys left and they got chopped down to nothing in no time.... I cannot wait to see how much better I can do on this game when my modded 2609 arrives. ? With my Regular InTV Flashback over the Summer I scored 550k. The ramp up in difficulty happens much faster with the Ultimate Flashback, the difference is unreal.... ? 349,975 Edited November 15, 2020 by Rickster8 Added a little more text.

gar0u
I didn't know the 'jzintv' emulation made Astrosmash harder! I have 330K written in my original Astrosmash rule book with "87+" lives written next to it. I can't break 200K now. Of course I'm like 35 years older, but now I can blame it on the emulator, not my failing reflexes. Might need to try Astrosmash one more time before the deadline on my Intellivision II.

Yeah it's crazy. There's like a 200k difference. Was telling Matt over the Summer I scored 550k using the Regular Flashback. Now with the jzintv I cannot break 350k. My brother has the same issue. I bought him the jzintv for his birthday, his high score is 347k on it. It's insane. Was telling mr_me the jzintv also makes better 'smarter' moves when you play against it in Chess. It will move it's rooks into attack position much earlier than the old Flashback does.... I have a Classic 2609 being modded for current TVs as we speak. Cannot wait to get it back in all fixed up and then I will post an Astrosmash score here using that. BITD I used to get over a million on Astro. I'm sure that won't happen, but you can bet it'll be better than 350k....
