bjybjy #1 Posted August 1, 2003 Well I enjoy it when they pay and bid high, but this guy really pissed me off tonight. I sold a Metroid II gameboy game to a guy from Canada for $15 plus $2 shipping. $17 total. He takes just shy of a month to pay, I mail the game out fast after getting payment, and like 3 days later (tonight) he leaves me this negative: 30 bucks and the internal battery was damaged and will not work, BUYERS BEWARE He never emailed me or anything. And stop me if I'm wrong, but I had no idea that Metroid II had an internal battery??? I don't remember being able to save games. And I'm not sure where he got the total of $30. I'm really pissed. I pride myself on having good feedback 1218 positives to now 6 negatives. The only thing I can think of is that he mistook this for another auction and left me a negative by mistake (lucky me). I can't bring up his past won auctions becuase they are all over 30 days old. He is just a kid, and the only reason he didn't pay fast was he was waiting for his paycheck to clear. His email is brian_labelle69 for peaks sake. AHHH. Anyways, I emailed him asking what the hell he was thinking and we'll see if he gets back to me. //rant Man I feel ... a little better... now Thanks for listening. Intrepid #2 Posted August 1, 2003 Perhaps he got the $30 number in the CDN/US Dollar conversion. Hopefully it's just a mixup. Sucks for you either way. Though if it was a mixup, how would he have money for the other auction so quickly if he couldn't pay you?
JerseyDevil #3 Posted August 1, 2003 You can save in Metroid II, so there probably is a battery.
Dolt #4 Posted August 1, 2003 I said this in a different thread, but it's still true: Don't go nuts over him leaving you negative feedback. Feedback ratings don't mean anything--I have over 1330 positive feedback and maybe 15 negatives (I don't recall how many off the top of my head). When you have a decent rating, it usually means that the few negative people are cranks and you'll never satisfy them. If someone sees that I have 99.X% percent good feedback and is yet still afraid to buy something from me because a handful of people were whiners, then I don't want that person to buy from me--too much trouble. So don't fret over it--just keep treating your customers well and let this guy fade into the distance.
sebastius #5 Posted August 4, 2003 The fact that you even bother with selling a 15 dollar cartridge amazes me, i'm way to lazy for that. But in that Metroid cart there is a battery. But if it's broken, its an easy fix and more importantly: It does NOT break the game. And considering the fact that all my NES and GB games with batt's still work with no problems, i don't think your battery has run out. It's probably that bastard's gameboy that's as filthy as can be. Instruct him to blow in the damn thing. It may help.
bjybjy #6 Posted August 5, 2003 Its nothing for me to list a $15 cart. I buy lots of gameboy games on a regular basis off eBay and relist them indivudually. You'd be surprised how much you can make doing this. It only takes me about 5 minutes to list them, and about 5 minutes to package them, so 6 an hour x $5 profit each, its like a $30/hr job. Not bad really. As per my negatives, of the 6 I have, at least half are "totally stupid" comments. I.E. "Seller never contacted me" when in reality I had sent like 4 emails, etc. Oh well, price of doing business. Still makes me mad though. Ah well. Jasoco #7 Posted August 5, 2003 Just remember, you can comment on his stupidity. "This idiot bought a Metroid II cart which HAS no battery and took over a month to pay. The total was $17, NOT $30. Plus he never emailed me at all. Beware of this member." That's what I would have said, PLUS I'd contact eBay right away. Edit: Are you sure it's "brian_labelle69"? eBay says he doesn't exist. bjybjy #8 Posted August 5, 2003 Believe me, I know you can reply to idiot feedback. If only you got that many characters to reply. And his ebay username is slighty different than that. That was his hotmail id. His eBay Id is: sylvialabelle (his mom's name). Sadly there is pretty much no sense in contacting eBay. I'd have to hire a moderator for $20 and I don't really feel like spending that kind of money. Tad
