MD5 on downloads?

I've been thinking about situations where a ROM - for one reason or another - seems to download but doesn't actually run properly.

It might be useful to have an MD5 sum on the binary data, which is checked before running on the '2600.

If the MD5 is incorrect, then the PlusCart should not attempt to run the binary, but instead report a checksum failure on download.

There was a check if the size of the downloaded ROM is correct, but it was broken, due to changes for downloading larger ROM files.

I am about to fix it and build RC5
