I believe the different music in The Goonies had to do with the rights to Cyndi Lauper's song which were for the US only (though early copies sold on disk by US Gold probably sneaked out and had the original music).

and the game also sold in the US so I'd like the damn Cyndi Lauper song version!   just sayin'

just because the game requires more memory on disk version doesn't always mean the game has more to it... the expanded requirements are to include room for whatever disk operating system that is needed as well...
