Mr.FoodMonster #1 Posted August 1, 2003 Well, my 4-switch Woody has died. Im not looking to repair it either, I just need another 4-switch woody to replace it. I have a vader, but the picture quality isnt very good at all. If anyone has JUST an atari, no switch-boxes or anything, PLEASE PM me. I dont think I can play a fuzzy screened atari for too long. Oh, if someone wants this atari, it probably can be fixed fairly easy, im just not the kind of person to do the job, you can have it for shipping/packaging charges. I want one thats tested and working and has a clear display. Thanks for any help!!
Shannon #2 Posted August 2, 2003 Aww man... that sucks!!! I just sent those games to you, and nothing to play them on..
Mr.FoodMonster #3 Posted August 2, 2003 i CAN still play them, but my vader is hardly worth trying. in the backround it has a couple thick lines that are discolored. so far nothing, i may have to resort to ebay

Sheldon Sims #5 Posted August 2, 2003 Have you tried fine tuning the RF signal on your Vader system? Here is a tip from David D. Busch's book: 1. Locate the RF adjustment socket, which is the hole in the square metal enclosed box inside your unit. 2. Turn on your Atari console and view a game image on your TV. 3. Use a plastic hex wrench and turn gently until the picture becomes sharpest. I used a metal hex screwdriver bit on mine, and it worked fine. The book says that a metal wrench can strip your screw, so be careful. I was able to get my picture and sound crystal clear on my "heavy sixer" by fine tuning it. Mr.FoodMonster #6 Posted August 2, 2003 i see what your talkinf about, sims, but all of my hex screwdriver heads dont seem to fit. this is surprising because i have a massive tool-box full of odd sizes, none of them seem to go that small, anything else i might be able to use? oh, and i saw that thread already, if i cant find a working just console with nothing extra thats who i plan on getting one from
Tifany #7 Posted August 2, 2003 HI there! How set are you on having a 4 switch? I have an extra 6 switcher woody that id let ya have for nothin... well, i may need shipping if you live a ways off. I just tested it out a few minutes ago and everything works A-Ok! The only issues it has is that the rca cable has some tape onit where its been repaired sometime in the past (probably an animal had been chewing on it) but it still gets a fairly clean signal through it, definalty playable though. You could replace that cable withthe one from your 4 switcher fairly easily. Anyways, its yours if ya want it.. i was only keeping it for spare parts for my main 6 switcher. Shoot me a pm if you would be interested! If it matters, the sticker on the bottom says: Manufactured by Atari-Wong LTD In Hong Kong Model No. CX-2600 ... Serial # 568250456 Let me know what ya think!
Sheldon Sims #8 Posted August 2, 2003 I used a 1/16" (1.5 cm?) hex head bit. You could probably buy one of these, or find a plastic hex wrench at an electronic parts store. It sounds like Tifany is your best bet. You could get her system, use your Vader for a spare, and use your dead Atari for spare parts.
