Rekrul
I haven't been here in many years, but I figured this would be the place to post this. I've been trying to get Atari 5200 emulation to work in Atari800Win PLus and not having any luck at all. Atari XL/XE emulation works fine, but 5200 emulation just crashes. I've tried versions 3.0, 4.0, and 4.1. I can select 5200 mode in the menu and I get the 5200 boot screen, but then it crashes a few seconds later. in 4.1, it opens a monitor window saying "CIM Encountered". If I type exit to close the monitor, I immediately get another monitor window. When I close that one, the emulator is just frozen. In 3.0, I get an error message that the machine has crashed. At least the emulator isn't frozen. I have the same 5200 BIOS that's on this site on the 5200 emulation page. Does 5200 emulation actually work for anyone else in Atari800Win PLus? roadrunner
You have to load a 5200 rom real quick before the emulator will crash.

I load the ROM, I see its name under the 5200 logo, then it crashes.
Class316
Here's my solution. Use this for all your Atari 800 and Atari 5200 needs http://www.virtualdub.org/altirra.html It works great. For whatever reason my gamepad couldn't work with 5200. But I get around that easily with JoyToKey.

Did you put the bios in the correct slots, did you try other parts of the emulator (800 emulation) Try these bios atari -- bios xf25.zip

mr_me
This issue was reported in jan 2013. https://github.com/Jaskier/Atari800Win-PLus/issues/5 The emulator hasn't been updated since jan 2012.

I should have mentioned that I already have Altirra. 20 hours ago, roadrunner said: Did you put the bios in the correct slots, did you try other parts of the emulator (800 emulation) Yes, I have all the BIOS ROMs configured correctly, and the ones that I have are exact matches for the ones you posted. 19 hours ago, x=usr(1536) said: That still works under a modern version of Windows? Nifty. There's also a much more versatile program called XPadder. You can add multi-key sequences, delays, switch configs on the fly, etc. It's shareware, but you can find an older, freeware version. 13 hours ago, mr_me said: This issue was reported in jan 2013. https://github.com/Jaskier/Atari800Win-PLus/issues/5 The emulator hasn't been updated since jan 2012. Thanks. I guess I just never figured that it would get to version 4.1 without the author noticing that 5200 emulation was completely broken. Yea works perfect on Windows 10. 20 hours ago, mr_me said: This issue was reported in jan 2013. https://github.com/Jaskier/Atari800Win-PLus/issues/5 The emulator hasn't been updated since jan 2012. All the more reason to use Altirra. It is just perfect. Edited December 7, 2020 by Class316
