I finally have one for my collection!

Recommended Posts

I won the Ebay auction for a Atari 2600 RomScanner new in the box, I have wanted to get one of these for at least a year. I already have the 2600 Video game brain complete in the box from RGA International.

Now I have a question, is there any other type of multi cartridge type of devices for the 2600 like the two I have?

 :lust: :?

Have you ever tried to connect two of these devices together? Theoretically, you could have all of your carts stored in ROM Scanners ready to be played in an instant :P

You would need a more powerful PSU to do that. :)

The funny thing about the Video Game Brain (at least the one I have, assuming that's what it is since it's not labeled as such) is that it has space for 8 slots, but you can only insert 6 cartridges. I wonder if this was done as a cost cutting factor, or for some reason they could not support 8 cartridge slots electrically? Makes me wonder if they intended 8 slots and they weren't able to support them. :)

Funny thing about these devices .. Some games do not work with them. I plugged all my paddle game carts into one and a few did not work. It was really trial and error.
