Yeah, but ya have to admit the NES had tons more great games than the SMS. When the same games were released on both systems the SMS version was usually better. IMO, the Genesis and the SNES are both great.

As I recall, it was Nintendo that had the belief that gamers didn't need any more than 8 bits. It wasn't until Sega put out the Genesis and gave Nintendo a strong, swift kick in the ass that they even bothered releasing the SNES.

 

I gotta wonder how old the person was who wrote that review. Was he/she even alive when the Genesis was released? Is this someone who grew up on later systems trying to review an older one? I hate sh!t like that. Like someone who wasn't even alive when Atari ruled the world, who grew up with an SNES, trying to review 2600 games. Gimme a break!

He must be 17 or 18 because if he knew his game history, he'd know that the Genesis came out before the SNES.

 

Also, I like the look of some of the SMS games as compared to their NES counterparts.

 

Don't get me wrong. I love the NES and SNES, but I switched to Sega the day my dad got me a Genesis. Haven't owned a NEW Nintendo system in a long time since.

If you are going to write an article on game consoles, it works in your favor to have advance knowledge of what you are writing about.

Because it's an obvious lie. It's common knowledge. Even a magazine wouldn't allow that kind of mistake. And if it did, he would be lynched. The reader mail would be piled up in the warehouse. Boy would he be in trouble.

There is a huge diffeence between knowledge and opinion.

 

Frankly a small mistake concerning the launch date of a given console seems a pretty lame thing to get upset over. The same holds true for someone's differeing opinion on thier fav console or game... it's all so subjective, it's not worth it.
