huwmanbeing #1 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) Does anyone know if there's an archive anywhere of the Atari ST files uploaded to GEnie in the late '80s and early '90s? The GEnie file library had lots of great Atari ST stuff, but there are a couple of special files I'm trying hard to track down: The Oasis in the Desert (OASIS.ARC) and The Proving Ground (PROVGRND.ARC), both of them text adventure games written by Michael Penner. I haven't been able to find them anywhere. (Not even the author has copies.) Here's a 1989 GEnie library catalog that lists the files: http://cd.textfiles.com/atarilibrary/atari_cd01/TELCOM/GENIE.328/GENIE8.DB Any guidance, thoughts, or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks! Edited December 26, 2020 by huwmanbeing 1

Thanks! Was it ever mirrored to funet or something else? I'll dig through a bunch of the crap that I have (I pulled the funet stuff before it was killed off, like the entire archive ha). My upload bandwidth is terrible, and now I can't remember if I turned my ftp off, but I did snag it.
+poobah #5 Posted December 31, 2020 Could try looking on the Suzy-B software CDs. They used contact me about my shareware titles on GEnie to get permission to include them on their discs.

Damn.... I really wish I had known about that or I would have grabbed it myself.
