with only about half a million Adams made we will be the elite few of the future

Have you noticed how postings of Adam systems and gear for sale has slowed to a crawl... trust me, I have.

500,000 to 950,000... unfortunately we will never know, but I’d put my money on it being closer to the second number.

If you setup a Telnet server you can surf the entire net not just telnet bbs's.

I am using an old Dell laptop running Ubuntu.   I added a Telnet server

(     Sudo apt-get install telnetd    )

and

(     Sudo apt-get install lynx for internet     )

I have the laptop connected to my home wifi network

I 'telnet ' into my linux laptop using the Adam

ATDT xxx.xxx.x.xx                where the x's are my home's wifi IP

Once you are connected just set the terminal emulation

TERM=vt52

Then goto a web site like Google

LYNX google.com

or

LYNX atariage.com

The Adam is basically acting as adumb terminal

cant afford an Altair but a guy is making clones that look good.   Modern internals with vintage case

I am doing the same thing with the Teachers Pet as the Adam. Telneting into my linux laptop and using MUTT as an email server
