SizzleAtari
Well, the VCS lasted one day. Went to power it on today, nothing. Emailed tech support, they've never had that issue. Very frustrating to wait this long, pay this much money for one day of use. Hopefully they will solve or replace it, but who knows how long that will take. CPUWIZ
Check if there is power coming out of the PSU. It's probably a cheap generic PSU, it would not surprise me if it is the cause.
SizzleAtari
Not sure how to do that

Or a soldering iron and some led's and resistors? I took these because so many people were commenting about the special plug. Of course, it's common, shipped with many Dell and Lenovo laptops, and commonly known as a "mickey mouse" or "clover" plug. If SizzleAtari also posted on Facebook, he said he gets the light on the console, and on the Atari logo lights up. The problem for somebody posting almost the same thing was that they said they see the Atari logo on-screen and then it goes "no signal". The VCS starts up in a lower resolution, perhaps 720p, and then switches to a higher resolution during boot-up. For the other person(?) the problem is either 4K incompatibility on the monitor, or a software issue, not hardware. SizzleAtari may have a different issue entirely, of course. I'm just saying it's similar, and explaining what I know. There have been some people with problems after switching to 4K permanent output, and a fix is now pending. Cheers, Richard. SizzleAtari
Mine will do nothing. The light won't even come on.
SizzleAtari
I'll go to Staples n get a new power supply and see if it fixes my problem.

Have you contacted Atari at https://atari.gamecentergroup.com/index.php?/VCS/Tickets/Submit . They should be able to help you or get you a new unit. Either way, good luck.
SizzleAtari
I was talking to them yesterday, they asked me for a serial number, and said thet may have to send me another one. But, then stopped talking to me.
SizzleAtari
Since my Atari won't power on, it does make for a good $400 display...
KingSmed
It's logical that some units will fail due manufacturing issues - especially with such early units as these. Sorry about your crap luck, I hope they are able to get a new unit out to you soon.
KingSmed
Don't recognize the keyboard (remote?) to the left. Did I miss it in one of the IndieGoGo tiers?
AtariLeaf
I would assume there are extra units on hand for just such an occurrence which was bound to happen to a few backers. Hopefully you get confirmation of a new shipped unit soon. After this long to have that happen after a day must be very frustrating 1
SizzleAtari
Got the keyboard from Amazon. Atari sticker from Ebay. Looks authentic. 2

SizzleAtari
Yes, I did Wednesday, have heard nothing since. A little frustrated. It worked for one day. Edited January 10, 2021 by SizzleAtari
CPUWIZ
I'd buy the dead system, for the shell, if you never get an answer.
AtariBrian
Maybe just the power supply is bad?
JeffVav
Long shot, but maybe the backplate is just misaligned to the button? If I understand correctly the "button" on the backplate is just a piece of plastic that indirectly mechanically pushes the real power button on the board. You could try removing the backplate and pushing the button directly.

You gave some, but not enough to work out what you're talking about. The Companion app? There is a very helpful Discord channel just for Atari VCS owners. Best to get some help there! WAVE 1 GAMES
I'm sorry I figured it out. It seems you're not supposed to set up the account you intend to actually use until after the bios update. The initial account I set up got an email activation confirmation from laomK123 and the second one I set up actually came from Atari

I guess I'm gonna drop it off at a repair shop tomorrow and see what they say since Atari stopped giving me information.
