VCS won't power on

I didn't see if you had tried a different cable (not different PSU), and a different socket?

There was a VCS owner on Indiegogo who also thought he had a dead VCS. Nothing worked. No power.

It turned out that he had a travel adapter for the USA plug, but it was faulty. The least likely fault.
His wife bought a replacement travel adapter, and the VCS then worked immediately.

I never saw if you'd tried a different socket, different cable from the wall to the PSU, and so on.
I hope that you have made some progress with your problem. I thought I'd pass on a glimmer of hope.

Will let you know. Mine just made it back to Atari today, hopefully my new one gets sent out soon.

Nice at least it seems the RMA process is sort of working.  Good luck!  As with anything I know it sucks to get one that fries a day after you try it.  But at least they aren't like 'what do you mean ,it booted once, good enough for us!'  I've seen posts about way too many companies where they just blame the purpose and refuse to RMA.  So far their support is off to a decent (not amazing but acceptable) level.

I took these because so many people were commenting about the special plug.
Of course, it's common, shipped with many Dell and Lenovo laptops, and commonly known as a "mickey mouse" or "clover" plug.

If SizzleAtari also posted on Facebook, he said he gets the light on the console, and on the Atari logo lights up.
The problem for somebody posting almost the same thing was that they said they see the Atari logo on-screen and then it goes "no signal".

The VCS starts up in a lower resolution, perhaps 720p, and then switches to a higher resolution during boot-up.

For the other person(?) the problem is either 4K incompatibility on the monitor, or a software issue, not hardware.

SizzleAtari may have a different issue entirely, of course. I'm just saying it's similar, and explaining what I know.
There have been some people with problems after switching to 4K permanent output, and a fix is now pending.

Cheers, Richard.

Hey there Richard, long time no see. :) Sliiiightly off topic but as I have a VCS underway to my place...

I found the picture of the power supply in this thread and seeing that it accepts Input 110-240, am I save to assume that I can just unplug the US part of the power cord and look for an european one and use it with the VCS once it arrives? I still have a stepdown converter for US plugs, but this seems like it could work without one, right?

Thank you

Thank you

Well given that it is what's written under the brick, I used a european cable and it works. Yay
