@ZeroPage Homebrew: is it possible to make one big zip or 7z file with all no commercial homebrwe to download?

You bet, we'll have a way to download of all the games individually or in a zip file that are nominated for voting so you can easily evaluate them. ?

Too bad I couldn't be part of the show. Let the voting begin!

Robot City got nominated quite often, even in some categories where I definitely did not expect it. And people even liked my really incomplete WIP Space Invaders. I sure hope they didn't nominate just by name.

That's what "work in progress" means, though. ;) It's definitely playable, though, not just a kernel demo.

Just wondering why there isn't a category for Atari 8-Bit/5200: Best Homebrew WIP?

Most other categories have a WIP alternative, is it because there isn't many?

There are many new games every year for Atari 8-bit (completed and work-in-progress). Compare seven A7800 completed games for the whole year 2020 with about 70 completed games in whole A8/A5200 category (see here). I helped with collecting those titles.

The A8 2020 WIP list (also present there) does not reflect the full picture as we knew there would be no WIP category in 2020 - hence there was no need to collect all titles for that list.

Could you please add the list of nominated entrees in each category to a separate post (or original post) in each of the voting threads?   After voting, it would be nice to still -easily- see what games were in that category.

Great idea, I'll add that to each one today. ?

Both games were deserving of their nominations. Looking forward to RC1 of Space Invaders.?

It would have been good if the games were in their own folders in the catagory folder as the files are a bit all over the place and it would have been useful to have all the game files for that game together so people would have downloaded all the files needed for the game.

For example Pitkat doesn't have the readme.txt file which is mentioned in the manual and is also useful.

The zip file can be found below, the thread also has some replies about some of the issues that people might had running the game.

Thanks for letting me know about the .txt file, I've now uploaded it to the each of the category folders.

I've voted in everything except the 7800 and 5200/8-bit categories. The 7800 ones I'll have to play in OpenEmu. Anyone have a recommendation for an 8-bit emulator for Macs?

Looks like OpenEmu uses an old Prosystem Emulator based core. Modern games will very likely experience problems and glitches.

The browser based emulation in JS7800 is a more up-to-date cross-platform alternative, with a nice interface, and shared high score tables. (courtesy @raz0red)
