7800 power supply mold

I was hacking an adaptor to use on my wife's blinds.  This is what I found around the house.  After putting it together it looked so familiar, I checked my 7800 power supply.  I guess we know where the molds went.  Even the polarity is the same.

Based on the part number, it was a DVE supply all along?

Edit:  The same part number is listed on both of the pictured power supplies.

I actually have this PB adapter for my side monitor mount PB speakers. Never noticed it was similar to the 7800

These can be had for $8 on Amazon/eBay. Much better than $30-$40 the typical retro gaming price gougers are charging for the same thing with the Atari logo on it.

Ya but you are still gonna need to replace the proprietary(ish) end.

Have one from an old 7800 PSU that died, that I cannibalized and connected to a female barrel end plug adapter like this one:

If I have this pigtail from Console 5 and this power adapter 9v 1.5a with an led supply end on it I have a 7800 power supply right?

Update to this:

 

I did end up ordering one of these DVE power supplies, and used my 7800-to-barrel end plug adapter - and the system is way more stable now. It was occasionally glitchy before, even when using a 10v, 1.25Amp PW supply I had laying around. The brick on it was smaller and lighter, and I think the wattage might be lower but I can't tell, it's not listed on it.

 

Anyway - these DVE PW supplies are great. You just have to make sure you have a 7800 style end laying around to cannibalize.
