Just starting out with Intybasic, and having trouble with it

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I just bought the Programming book for intybasic (I used to be very good with basic & pascal language), so I thought this would be really fun to try to write games for the Intellivision. However, I am already hitting a snag just trying to get it to print "Hello World".  I checked out a video by Gray Defender to help me, but I still keep getting an error message.  It is stating it is unable to open input file.  Would anybody have any suggestions?  It looks like I have all of the text correct on the .bas file.  I was having other errors but manage to at least show the compiler is working now.  I have a 64 bit computer & a 32 bit computer, and I get the same message on both.

It would be C:\Users\    a\My Documents\intybasic.exe hello.bas hello.asm

So I believe you need the .exe part.  Check to be sure that the prologue and the epilogue files are in the same folder as hello.bas.

Yes, I have all of the files in the same folder.  I also just tried to use the intybasic with the exe extension, but still getting errors.

Cool! I was then going to ask for a screencap of the dir for what's in there, but you got it.

Another suggestion. I got my beginnings with the sprites.bas file. It's really well done by nanochess and fun to play around with and learn. Just my tip. ?

Yeah, you may need to turn on file extension in windows.  I'm not sure why it is off by default. When you save a bas file.  Type, yourgame.bas and pick .all file instead of txt in the drop down window.

Thank you.  When I saved it, I think I did set it up as a txt file, so that may have been why then!
