HEX Editor for files?

Hi everyone,

 

I need to edit the listing options in my RAG macro Assembler (e.g., change default 'PIO' to a file) for use with Classic99 -- can anyone recommend a HEX editor that I can use under Windows 10 to accomplish this?

Yep, HxD.  For MacOS - 0xed.  However, it’s home page went down, but the 1.1.4 last version is on multiple mirrors.

Been using HxD for a long time, but if I'm just reviewing a file, I just use tidir

I was able to successfully get things working with the RAG Macro Assembler.

 

On a side note, can anyone advise me on how to incorporate a MESS .rpk image of my SuperSpace II cartridge for use with Classic99?

An RPK is just a zip file, so start by unzipping it.

 

I'm not sure offhand if I fully support the SuperSpace 2... you'll have to try it.

The SuperSpace2 RPK simply contains the Editor/Assembler GROM, and the information that it is a SuperSpace2. The main work is done by the emulation by allocating NVRAM memory space for it.

Thanks for the replies, I think I have a handle on it...  and, indeed, the tricky bit is getting the superspace.nv "ssram" configured properly to have addresses >6000 through >7FFF recognized as RAM.

 

I'll let you know how it develops.
