Time for the 2nd poll of Season 18

If anyone missed round 1 just post a score and join right in :waving:

The runner up games from R1 and some other classics to keep it moving along! Sorry pac-Man you didn't make the cut! He'll be back

Any questions post or message, we are all friendly here

Pondering on playing the Patent V6 version for a change (or the Marius version better PAL timings but still easier). If you only have the original version then we can factor that in the tables.

Blue Max

HSC favourite, bit tricky for beginners but a fantastic game.

Drop Zone

Better than defender? I'll leave you to decided, classic Horizontal rescue and shooter with some nice touces. Don't be surprised if top players will get to a point where they retire - we might make it 1milion for a joint win or something. This fast paced game is the most difficult in the poll for a casual player. Also needs a good Joystick and space is smart bombs and other key is cloak. [] Thanks orpheus, below - atariage NTSC patched XEXs

Qix 5200 ver

We played the A8 version last time so it's the equally good 5200 port.

Juno First

And finally Juno First, a nice middle ranked game, could be better but very playable shooter. You can scroll the screen vertically.

Mostly for fun and to enjoy @graywest, I made another graph with the state so far. Timestamps are in my local time zone. I separated the games by 0.1 so every line should be visible, although in practice three games currently are tied on 2 votes. I'm not expecting to do this all the time, and I don't know if the forum software even has a function to do this kind of polls but it is a bit interesting. (Crayons or not)

Yeah, TRBB really makes sure to pick strong contenders for the first few rounds to ensure we get a good turnout before we venture into the less familiar gardens.

Yes we should play Hovver Bover :)

Never managed to ride the wave more than a few rounds before everyone disapppears, maybe this season we can make it to round 20 with more than 10 players :P

While it is true that both Juno First (Konami) and Beamrider (Activision) borrow the perspective from Radar Scope (Nintendo), it is said that Juno First "gives the player a fundamentally different degree of control over their momentum and direction" compared to Radar Scope. I'm sure similar things can be said about many games from that era, when does a game go from (improved) clone to a game on its own, inspired by an older one.

Awesome! I love it. Blue Max is out to an early lead, but there's still plenty of time for others to catch up...
