Intellivision - for ARAB market

Recommended Posts

Now we just need someone to find a manual for this thing. All three that we're aware of have not had a manual. (Pretty sure the one Jason posted on FB didn't)

Ok, here is what Google Translate produced. Consider these translations to be a crude guideline and not 100% accurate.  Remember that Arabic flows from right to left, which is why the paragraphs are the reverse of how European languages would place them on the box.  The photos are shown in the order someone would read them.

Note: when I say "upper", I mean the upper part of the area below the photos, not the upper part of the whole back of the box.

I always wonder what the journey of  a console like this is, I mean , us console imported to a small market, complete with localized box, somehow ends up in italy decades later, really wild stuff

I think many of these international editions end up the same way.  Locked away in a Canadian guys remote bunker never to see the light of day again.

Just out of curiosity, I tried Google Translate's camera feature to auto-translate on the Arabic writing.  The tool really struggles with it, especially on sections that uses a very stylized font.  The upper right hollow writing on the console itself was the most the most difficult to auto-translate.

Und ich krieg immer krach wenn ich sage keine Schrift lässt sich so gut graphisch benutzen wie lateinische Schrift.

It's horrible, a dot in a different position and it means something complete different...

It's kinda cool what my ex did with Arabic but she never can invert, bend, stump a letter like i can.

"The tool..." what do you guess how i struggled... (i was 8 years married to a Maghreb and can't speak a word Arabic)

Nice.

You never had a kebab with two controllers? That's sad.
