Atari 800 and 800XL spotted in a Jackie Chan movie from 1985

Hello @all,

 

I spotted a 800, a 800xl, a 1050 and Syncalc in a Jackie chan movie from 1985 (Police Story) ?

I don't think anyone had discovered this before (but it would be strange after all this time), so I'm sharing ?

Yes, Starrring the computer has that info but your Syncalc frames are very interesting.

I would think an Atari computer used in Japan would be extremely rare.

Hong Kong is the base for the police story series, which was under UK at one time, China has done what it's done today. The movies still kind of followed the outlines of what the ccp believes to be acceptable.

You would definitely find Atari's in Hong Kong, I mean they manufactured them there!

I just realized last night that "Police Story" was available on HBOMax.  Too bad that there's only one other classic Jackie Chan film there too.  "Police Story" used to be really difficult to get ahold of in the US until just a few years ago because of distribution rights.  I had to import a DVD copy of it way back in the early 2000s and then hack my player to be region free in order to watch it.  Glad to see that it's finally available to a much wider audience; it is such a brilliant film.
