Jag CD binding

Ive seen others mention this and am trying to figure out if my Jag CD has this problem.  If you press down on the lid where its says "Close here", the lid closes easily.  This is about the 5 o'clock position on the top.  If you try to close the lid any other place it wont really close.  Is this the binding problem or normal?

 

If it is the binding problem how is it fixed?

Good for you if it closes easily.:) Mine never did, I have to push down the button when closing and releasing it afterwards. Been like that since day one and only discovered that it is supposed to be different at the first Jagfest when I saw someone else's machine.

Peter, if you put a little drop of clean PTFE or silicone spray on the plastic part that gets pushed down when closing the lid, and on the part that is in contact with the eject/open button, there is a chance that your unit closes easily too.
