nullvalue
I have a bunch of disks for a TI-99/4A system that I got when I purchased the system from its original owner. Some disks include "GREAT TI GAMES", "TI SALES DEMO", "WIZARD'S LAIR" and "SUPER FROGGER". I'd like to back up these disks and get them into a repository somewhere. First of all, is there an exhaustive repository somewhere that I could contribute to? If not I could at least get them up on archive.org. I am surprised to see there wasn't really a large category of games under https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary. I did find this https://archive.org/details/basic-games-ti99 but obviously that's not everything.. Second, how would I properly back up these disks? Would ImageDisk on a DOS computer with a 1.2MB drive work? If so, what settings should be used?

You could use a PC disk imager to copy images of the disks but you definitely need a 360k double-sided double density drive as the track sizes are different and a 1.2 drive also runs at a different speed The best place to archive the files is probably ftp.whtech.com. I would check there first and I'd also check the game base for those games to see if they've already been archived before you spend a lot of effort Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk

I do have a TI with a working PEB/Disk Drive. How would I get the data from the disk transferred to my modern PC?

atrax27407
Low tech version" 1) Archive the disk contents disk with ARCHIVER 3.03 on the TI (it creates an (I/F128 file). You will need a DSDD FDC on the TI - CorComp or BWG, etc. 2) Use PC-TRANSFER (it will handle up to a 720K file) to copy it to a PC formatted 3.5"(use the I/F128 copy template) 3) Copy the file from the PC disk using a USB 3.5" drive (cheap and plentiful on eBAY) Just reverse the process to get the file/disk back to the TI from the PC
