This scoring system will allow players who join later to score more points later in the season and qualify for the Bracket Challenge. The last 2 weeks of the Season will be double Points! The Overall Rankings will be Posted Every Tuesday or Wednesday. A new Game will be Posted Every Thursday or Friday unless it is a 2 week special game/games. This will give you several games to play every weekend! The Season should end at the end of July. The TOP 32 will qualify for the Medal Bracket Challenge which will include a special Paper Medal Bracket Knockout Tourney. This season we will have a few games that we always seem to circle back to. We will have some cool Imagic games. We have picks by last years winners! We have many games that have NOT been played in while or never have been played. AND we have 3 GREAT homebrew games that the Creators themselves have given me permission to use for our Homebrew weeks! These Homebrew games have NEVER been played in the HSC and will be a big treat for us and will allow the Creators to play/chime-in with tips and tricks! Overall, I think of it as a 'Mix Tape' of games. I used to make 'Mix Tapes' on cassettes and give them to my friends way back in the 1970's and 80's. There would be some familiar songs and some songs they never heard of. I think the 2600 HSC is exactly like that! So, I present to you... Season 11 Atari 2600 High Score Club! But since recently, we slightly refurnished our "new" living room, I had room for a CRT TV and two consoles. Also, my 6-year-old enjoys some old-school videogaming with dad in the current lockdown. With the wife's blessing even. What has the world come to...? Anyway, it's a win-win situation, I'd say. Expect me to chime in here every now and then. I doubt I will be able to play regularly, though. Time is a very very precious resource for me these days. We'll see. Still, it's great to be back - sort of. Not sure I can do better on the Berzerk, and have both of my copies of Venture out. I just don't want to play it, lol. Felt the same about Berzerk, actually had a fun couple days, but... Berzerk commentary: Ok... bear with me here and I promise this is probably funny to you! So, I've always pronounced the game as "buh-zerk" and never gave much thought ever to writing the word out in any other aspect of my life. With that in mind, I could've sworn it's normally spelled "Bezerk" based on how I say it. Trying to find the rom in Stella with no results for "bez" was like "huh... how do I not have this?", only to find out the game is called Berzerk. Then as I typed out Berzerk here at the start of my post, I noticed the underline indicating I have a spelling error! Then I'm like "well... is the word actually spelled 'bezerk' on how I've always pronounced it!?". Then I google/dictionary it to find out the REAL spelling of the actual word is "berserk" !? !? !? I listened to it pronounced several times. It's going to take me a LONG time to correct this with my speech and spelling out the real word when it comes up! So, damn you whoever came up with this game name 40 years ago and taught me wrong all of these years! Other commentary: I'm going to try to personally track the "Two favorites, two surprises, two hates" thing this season as I go along. Venture is currently on my hate list.
