TGB1718
Just found this on an old disk, I wrote it for a magazine that asked for programs in 5 lines, I think I got £25 for this. You can type NEW after running, the routine sits in Page 6, so as long as you don't use Page 6 it stays there, if you press reset, just do x=USR(1536) to start it again. 1 FOR I=1536 TO 1536+128:READ A:POKE I,A:NEXT I:X=USR(1536):REM LINE HIGHLIGHTER T.G.BAILEY 1986 2 DATA 104,169,46,141,0,2,169,6,141,1,2,173,48,2,141,32,6,141,35,6,173,49,2,141,33,6,141,36,6,169,128,13,32,6,141 3 DATA 32,156,169,192,141,14,212,32,83,6,96,72,138,72,24,165,84,105,4,42,42,162,20,205,11,212,208,251,142,24,208 4 DATA 105,2,205,11,212,16,251,173,198,2,141,24,208,104,170,104,64,169,7,160,92,162,6,76,92,228,206,128,6,48,3,76 5 DATA 98,228,173,243,2,201,1,208,13,169,2,141,243,2,169,12,141,128,6,76,98,228,169,1,141,243,2,76,112,6,11 5

patjomki
Its been ages since I typed in a program. ? Had a program like that (for those that are curious it let's the cursor blink) back in the days of the 8-bit wars but for me it was and is one of the advantages that the cursor of the atari doesn't blink. Nice idea nevertheless.

I do that all the time, you can just right click on the Altirra screen and select Paste too.
+Nezgar
neat! Seems to really slow down the text printing while running... LISTing the program looks like a 1200bps modem when this is enabled. Hmm I could probably convert this into an autorun.sys. More to play with later. Edit.. And Whoa, ANY inverse text is flashing, not just the cursor!

Yeah - everything I recall seeing BITD that gave a flashing cursor, simply made ALL inverse text flash. I'm not aware of any that only made the cursor blink. Strange - I just tried this again in Altirra, and now listing is making the machine crash.
ivop
Simple blinking cursor is just toggling 752 ($02f0 / CRSINH) Inverse video stays inverse video.

I recall something that replaced the cursor with a PMG "underscore" that I guess would definitely be completely unaffected/independant.
