Amico partners with Topps

I thought this has something to do with sports cards but it has to do with gift cards for buying amico games.

I think Topps will possibly have a hand in the physical media via rfid overlay/artwork cards. Topps has made cards with rfid in them iirc.

Might be part of the physical media too.

Does Topps own those or only have the license to make cards of them?

I * think* they own those 3.   I was looking but can’t find a list of properties they own.

Tommy has alluded to the Garbage Pail Kids, but it would have to be toned down considerably. . .if they made it a kind of scrappy kids adventure game like Goonies and not go off-color, it could be fun. . .

It has been forever since I've seen anything GPK related. Were they really that bad? I don't remember much about them.

By today's standards, no. But I did grow up in a home where I had an older sister that was repeatedly grounded for bringing them into the home. And they have blood, which is a ding against them in the age-appropriateness ratings.

And this one doesn't have blood:

Oh....yeah...that's not really uh what you want on family friendly console. Maybe focus on aliens and dinos instead. Kids like dinos anyways.

They still make GPK and in Walmart and target, and still offensive as ever!

Yeah I've seen the card packs. I kind of miss card collecting. Just bought a unopened box of Star Wars Galaxy Series 1 cards. Hoping to use them as positive reinforcement with Baby Beef when the potty training starts. He's a big Darth Vader fan.

I will make sure to steer clear of GPK for him.

None of those properties are really family friendly. Topps got into a lot of trouble back in the day with each of them.

Once you tone them down though, what is the point???

The Naked Gun has the baseball scene. Which is one of the 50 greatest things put on film in the last 40 years.

Yeah that's a good point. Might as well just make your own new game. I still vote dinosaurs.

Very possible that the "physical product" that will be inside the box is a collectible topps designed gift card holding the rfid product key.

Something like the Amiibo cards maybe but with Intellivision art obviously

Yeah even the Amazon website is calling them cards. I thought overlay art at one point but I think lenticular box art is more likely at this point.

If you've never seen the Garbage Pail Kids film. I highly recommend it.

Is it true that Garbage Pail Kids was created by Art Spiegelman? The creative genius behind the Maus graphic novel?

Topps NFT.     Just cant see buying digital trading cards!

I agree... what's the point.  These kids are loosing everything in the digital age.  Noting better than flipping cards with a friend back in the day.

Even some of our teachers got into it.

Lot's of fun.
