PC99 Hard Disk image

Hello TI-99 community,

For some reason my copy of PC99 did not come with the 20mb or 40mb blank disk images to use with the MYARC HD controller. I'd really like to emulate this on the PC99 but so far have hit some dead ends. I may be able to make my own but I'm a bit new to this level of TI-99 programming so I'd need some basic pointers on how to do this. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it much. The PC99w documentation says the files are titled my20mb.dsk and my40mb.dsk, however neither is in the DSK folder that came with the program. I did email the CaDD company as well.

Thanks - Tim

if I recall correctly, it's just a RAW image and you can create with a tool like CHDMAN (MAME required) or you can download my OoeyGUI to install MAME and it has a GUI form that you can create a RAW image.  OoeyGUI MESS Launcher download | SourceForge.net

Once created you will have to format them with MDM5 via the TI emulated system.

Dear PC99W users,
The CaDD Myarc HFDC, is not recomended for use because it is buggy as explained in the user manual.  The IDE drive however
has no reported issues, and is the CaDD recomended HDD.  The actual file names that PC99W uses for the HFDC are virtual_drive5.bin,
and virtual_drive6.bin.  Virtual drives 1-4 are the HFDC floppy drives, and are not compatible with the CaDD Myarc FDC.
These file names are fixed.
