I have started a new user page on the Wiki:

Which will be a list of favorite BBS software, and how to deploy it.

 

I've started with the FoReM-850-26M that I resurrected (this is the original version of FoReM from 1983, which is, in itself, an extended AMIS with multiple message boards.)

 

Note that the example for FoReM provides a ready to run disk image that you can copy to your own system and get running using a step by step procedure.
