Maybe you can point out what kind of Celestial Bodies you have there.😀

Celestial Body Challenge (from Gyruss)

This photo shows:

  • A meteor (the white blob in the upper right near my ship)
  • Background stars (a little blue dot and red dot near the center of the screen - it's hard to get more than a couple of these to show up in a still shot)
  • Three blue satellites (just left from the center of the screen)
  • Two red enemy ships (near the satellites)
  • Player ship (next to the meteor in the upper right)

I leave it to the judges to decide which of these count and/or are duplicates.

Ok, I have spent long enough looking through games and manuals to find some celestial bodies up in here, but I'm only finding 2 at the most. I'm real curious what people find. So here's my pick:

Star Ship (aka Outer Space) - Game 13

We're looking at 1 moon and 2 asteroids for a total of 2 celestial bodies (there were a lot more asteroids on screen, but they flicker out during the screen shot it seems; not that it matters for the count).

I am going to try and claim three points for this shot of solaris. The three are the (non earth) planet surface, the ringed moon in the picture, and the stars

Gravitar

I think this counts as 3; Killer Sun, Planet, Alien Reactor Base.

Gravitar (1983) (Atari).png

Maybe the base doesn't count, so it might be 2.

:P

Damn.

Double Damn.

Doesn't count now, but here's the(crappy)pic(I suppose i could have used stella).

I think that would’ve just been 2 for the planets and stars. Unless I’m reading that wrong. Doesn’t matter anyway. I like how some images are clearly what they were intended and others are, “that white dot is this and the blue dot is that...”. 😆

The thing is, the graphics are such that they are distinctly different planets, so if I had gotten it in, I'd have at least said "hey, come on!", if it wasn't accepted as 5.

:D

But I see what you are saying, I am wrong, Vocelli does actually cover what I would have been trying to pull, lol!

Bonus: Sorcerer's Apprentice

You've got stars and meteorites.  Two out of three ain't bad, but unfortunately it don't count for the extra bonus points.  Oh well!

I would've thought this was easier with how many 2600 games start with the word "Space" or "Star". So instead, let's go a bit off script!

Better score: 43,900.

I recently acquired this in cartridge form, thinking of trying it on actual hardware and seeing if I do better.
