Break key solution.

You know, I bet some semi-brilliant person with a 3D printer could come up with

an insert to go under the <break> key and keep it from being pressed. Make it

easy to install/uninstall so you could regain access to it when needed.

Just a (semi-random) thought.  :)

Paradroyd came up with a mod for his break key that is similar to your idea.

As a side note...The Express Cart is a great solution as it provides a great term program that's similar to Bobterm and there's no break key bug.

The only downside is that the cart is rare (although the bin/car image can be found). @Amis is working on a limited run of these cartridges for free to the "regular" Atari 8 bit BBS Users.

The Bin and Rom are up for download on southernamis.ddns.net:23 working well on Altirra and Atari800macx.. Here is the software manual as well. Bit of a heavy project load so behind in porting to an ATR. Anyone have some spare time?

Great work... will  have to try it out on one of the AtariMax carts.... assuming I can find my programmer. ;)

The thing with the break key is that 99% of the time you'll be fine and avoid it, but that bloody 1% just does your head in! ;)

That's because you took the half-assed route and got a 600xl.

If you had gone all the way and got the 1200xl, you wouldn't be having this problem. ;)

Here in Australia, I've never even 'seen' a 1200XL in real life! I'm pretty sure they were never sold here.
