gferluga
I have a white 99/4A, PAL model, assembled in the USA, that shows on the main screen the classic (C)1981 but is reading only original TI modules. No Atari, no FlashRom or FinalGrom, even no the SuperSketch module. The power switch is blue. Any idea? Thanks in advance. PS: btw, the C letter of the keyboard is not working. The only one. Even i pressing hard or ticking several times. :(- Edited March 14, 2021 by gferluga
wierd_w
This sounds like the QI motherboard issue. http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/computers/ti99qi.html The system specifically checks for authenticity on the cartridge slot. Getting around the issue has been a source of continued frustration for anyone who owns one. Granted, the copyright date is unusual for a QI afflicted motherboard... gferluga
FYI: F18A from Hans: working PEB box with TIPI and P-CODE: working NanoPEB: working This unit is coming from Egypt. Maybe a special model? A mockup from Argentinian one? Beige PAL consoles are unusual in Europe.
+arcadeshopper
Def a qi motherboard based on the side port so no it won't work with a FinalGrom99 It should still work with other rom carts have you cleaned the cart port?Info in the pinned FAQ btw if you need itSent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk
gferluga
QI slot: Notice that my grounding fingers are silver in color. So why the TI welcome screen shows (C)1981? Maybe a prototype? Btw, all Atari games from disk, via NanoPEB, runs with no issues (of course).
+arcadeshopper
If you look in the FAQ there's info on the rom date qi machines were shipped with both 81 and 83 ROMs There are signals missing in the cart port that stop the FinalGrom99 from working but they shouldn't do that for other carts.. Obviously loading from disk has nothing to do with cart port signals..Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk
gferluga
All TI carts work. I try to clean contacts at my best. Anyway, interesting machine. C key is back to work after some hummer therapy :)- Thanks everyone for help.
+Ksarul
Try to run a cart with ROM and GROM, like Parsec. . .I have a suspicion that the console is not talking to the >6000 space at all for some reason. TI carts will all be recognized because their headers are in GROM space--but what happens when those same cartridges try to run the ROM portions of their code?
