Audacity Games Welcome Letter and Patch!

That patch looks really nice. I'm sort of bummed that I waited a bit before going to the order page now. :)

I'm surprised that it looks like they're only looking to potentially limit themselves to use just developers from back in the hay day for any releases under their name. I'd guess that pool of willing people is pretty small at this point. (Not trying to start any popcorn eating fest with that comment!)

I saw a comment on Brian's Man Cave YouTube channel saying that Howard Scott Warshaw was mentioning publishing Yars Revenge 2 through Audacity. I'm not a Facebook person, so I don't know if it's true but that would be really cool to see.

Was he involved with Yars Return? I didn’t think that one worked that well...

I'm not sure. According to this thread it was possibly originally either hacked/written by Raymond Yeung and then some of the bugs were fixed by Dennis Debro. @DEBRO writes in the thread about apologizing to Scott about the easter egg change, so it sounds like Scott was possibly at least aware of it.

Thanks for showing this!  I was kind of curious what people got, and I fully understated why they would do something along these lines to build interest, and get people stoked on it right out of the gate.

But the execution of their plan?

That was a neat gift for those who wanted to show their support and didn't use Firefox, I guess.

Neat gift.  Congratulations.  Tone of the letter seems a tad douche-y.

We're not homebrew; we're a premium retro game company.  Really?  Paid you 20 days ago, bro.  Still haven't gotten that shipping notification.  That's not premium service, that's guy-working-out-of-his-garage service.  Premium companies don't solicit overtures to prospective designers from their customers.

Not dumping on the game or the company.  I bought the game, plan on buying the next one, and I hope they succeed.  The chest puffing is just a little bit of a turn-off and kind of snobbish.
