maibock #1 Posted August 11, 2003 I recently bought a Sega Nomad and finally getting a good idea of which games are good with it and conversely, which aren't working too well. Goblin asked this question in the marketplace and I thought it would be better to be asked and answered here.. so : Goblin - "Has anybody actually sat down and figured out which games look the best on one of these. I'm finding some games play great, but due to text size, character size, or speed make it difficult to play on the tiny screen." I'm having a rough time playing the Madden Football series, but surprisingly Tecmo Superbowl plays pretty good. Also, I'm really enjoying Triple Play '96 a lot more on the Nomad. In the same sense, I'm enjoying Double Dragon a lot better as well, since on the TV it looks "grainy" but on the small screen it looks pretty decent. bergbros #8 Posted August 13, 2003 Any strategy game or a game that has too much on the screen at one time. Powermonger and Smash TV comes to mind.
chrisbid #9 Posted August 13, 2003 the older arcade ports like strider, golden axe, ghouls n ghosts, forgotten worlds, streets of rage, etc are all wonderful games to play on the go
Xot #10 Posted August 13, 2003 Unfortunately my favorite Genny game, Thunder Force III, is extremely blurry on the Nomad. Same can be said for Lightening [sic] force and Valis.
Gregory DG #11 Posted August 13, 2003 Does the Nomad have a MODE key? Certain games had trouble with the 6-button Genny controller which made the player hold the MODE key down while turning on the system. Ms. Pac-Man is definitely one of those problem games. maibock #13 Posted August 13, 2003 yes, the nomad has a mode button Ahhhh.. So that's what the "mode" button is for. Any other uses?
JB #14 Posted August 14, 2003 yes, the nomad has a mode button Ahhhh.. So that's what the "mode" button is for. Any other uses? I know it CAN be used as a normal button in games that support the 6-button pad, but the only game I know of to do so was MetalHead on the 32x.

If I recall, you could use Mode to taunt in Fatal Fury 2. Not really worth anything, but its neat.
