18 killer NES games for $10 B)

This one's been on my radar for a while, now.

I don’t care much for Renegade or the original NES Double Dragon, and I have bought the rest of the Technōs US games a million times, but looking at all of those exclusive new translations I gotta get that. Kunio Kun hockey??? I’m sold.

They're not?

Nope. They were $40, now they're back up to $60.

I'm just using my Classic Controller Pro; it's not quite the same thing, but it's good enough B)

Exactly! Half of these games never even got a fan translation.

They also added some optimizations to almost all of the games, but most of them it's just "less lag/flickering", which might just be an emulation option, but it's hard to say without digging in.

The online multiplayer should be nice to play with my friends during this pandemic.

...and I didn't think I would really care, but there's a "B + A" button, and I've been using it a lot.

That's it. Gonna wishlist it and bank on it going on sale again.

Now... Anyone know how to pass on this thing?  I press the pass button and it just flips the puck up in the air.

I think you have to be moving. It's not a great hockey game and it's not quite as good a hockey-themed beat-em-up as Mutant League but it's a lot of fun. Pretty happy with that deal!

I've heard good things about this Dragonball game. It is normally $60 and is on sale for around $10. https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/dragon-ball-fighterz-switch/

a friend of mine bought her son a copy of it some time back since they're both huge DB fans.  she said it was pretty good, too!

I'm late to the party to reply on this, but i bought the collection on release and haven't regretted it.  Tons of fun to play the games I never saw here. :)

It looks really good! I've watched very little DBZ but was okay with what I have seen.

QuibicGames has a contest if you are in North America. You could win some codes for their games. I think some of their games are on sale.

They run contests pretty often. :)  I own Robonauts, but don't remember if I picked up any of their other stuff.

If you want a dungeon game Mana Spark is good. Rekt is good if you like stunt racing. Blazing Beaks is a game that plays like Gungeon.

Those collections are rock solid, didn't want to pop on Contra, but I have the Castlevania one -- yet on Steam.  I'll enjoy them longer than the Switch is viable, so why be stuck?  Did the same on a deep sale a good year back or so on steam too for Capcom beat em up package which I did have on Switch and sold.  I just was being lazy not using it on there as it's easier just to click and start when already on here.

To me the draw is having the game available on a handheld as well as TV, plus whatever extras are added in. For Contra/Super Contra it even gives the option of handheld + vertical display, which is pretty much something that only the Switch can do conveniently. If I'm going to sit down at my PC, it's usually not an improvement over downloading some roms and emulating... although e.g. the Sega Ages games are really the best way to play, period, and I'd grab them on PC if I could.

I'd hope that we're at the point in digital services and the evolution of consoles etc where Nintendo's not going to axe the whole eshop and try to re-sell the entirety of Arcade Archives etc again on Switch 2, but I guess I wouldn't count on it.

Mercenaries Saga: Chronicles is half off on the eshop right now- I think it was $7.99 US.

If you like Final Fantasy Tactics/Tactics Ogre-style games, the collection has three titles and is worth at least looking at.  They certainly don't break new ground or have riveting stories but the gameplay is really solid to scratch the 'pick up and set down' tactical rpg itch.
