Modern substitute for 800XL Power Supply? (UK)

I was looking at the old 800XL earlier and it stuck me that despite all the modern upgrades it still had the huge clunker of a brick power supply!

(actually this was pointed out by the sniggering Other Half)

Is there a modern replacement maybe with an on/off switch on it?

There's no on/off switch on this one but it's a good option:

Poland: https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=176

UK: https://retrolemon.co.uk/home/52-pwr3-atari-8-bit-hq-power-supply.html

US: https://www.8bitclassics.com/product/advanced-atari-xl-xe-power-supply/

Mean Well GS18A05-P1J with the addition of a DIN7 plug:

Thanks for the replies. I guess people are using these without issue and there is no risk of blowing the old workhorse up?

I've used most of these with no issues. The one I linked at Atari Giant has the on/off switch you were looking for.

I bought one of these 2-3 weeks ago from RetroLemon - I have an 800XL with U1MB, StereoPokey, UAV and a SIDE3 and it so far it works perfectly (retrolemon.co.uk since you asked for UK sources).

The new one is a bit of a mixed bag. Specs say more ripple & noise and lower no load power consumption/higher energy efficiency level.

Lol. "Power switch is IMPOSSIBLE to replace". :)

If only there was a way to desolder a pesky 3 pins.  Damn man - a little birdy told me if you completely socket a 130XE there's 682 pins.  That's what - 227.33333333333333333333333333333% impossible!  I bet I could do it though, in less time than the Kessel run - I'll do it in 11.5 Parsecs and you can bet I'll shoot first :)

Stephen, you get out the Dodge and I'll get the Speed 3 out..

Hang on...I've gotta finish the engine and actually put it in the car first. Somehing considerably harder than three pesky pins.

I have this one here, plugs straight into my 1088XEL, and I have an adapter to plug into the XLs I have as well.  I haven't had any issues with it.

I got a nice DIN plug as well.

I made my PSU cable.

An old USB printer cable + 6 pin DIN = Done. Just make sure to check the polarity on the power lines coming off the USB cable, the first one I chopped up had the polarity of the power wires reversed.

Find a decent quality 2.5A USB power adaptor and you're done.

Pedantic math alert!  ?

I think you mean 227.33333333333333333333333333333 times more impossible.  227.33333333333333333333333333333 percent more impossible would be only 6.82 pins.

Which reminds me, if you've done six impossible things this morning, why not round it off with breakfast at Milliways, the restaurant at the end of the universe?

Math!  ?

I was just posting what the OP was asking for... I agree that is a little bit of hyperbole LOL (Personally replaced at least three power switched on a8 machines myself)
